(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position:
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Positions on Attributing and Verifying Greenhouse gas emissions for Agriculture and Forestry
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with strong experience in land surface modeling to contribute to the European research project AVENGERS, which aims to improve the annual greenhouse gas emission reports that countries submit to the UNFCCC. The chosen candidate will be expected to build, analyze, and apply the ORCHIDEE land surface model to estimate emission factors for various agriculture and forest management scenarios in order to improve emission factor representation in greenhouse gas emission inventories.
Requirements:
We are looking for a Ph.D. in meteorology, physics, mathematics, atmospheric science, or theoretical ecology due to the interdisciplinary character of the project. Regardless of background, a broad interest in natural sciences, particularly terrestrial ecology, is required. We are searching for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills:
- The capability of using and developing land surface models of similar complexity and philosophy to ORCHIDEE
- The capability of parameterizing and assessing the performance of land surface models
- Capacity to write scientific code (at least Fortran 90, as well as a scripting language such as Python, R, shell, etc.)

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc “Using Personal Deepfakes in Charismatic Leadership Training”
As a postdoc, you will plan and carry out two large-scale experimental investigations to assess the effectiveness of the training. You determine whether introducing charisma-enhanced deep fakes boosts junior managers’ aspirations, motivation, and learning. You also collaborate with us to provide science-based training to (aspiring) managers who could benefit from it. Finally, for a maximum of 0.1 fte, you may be asked to assist in teaching relevant to this project.
Requirements:
- You have a Ph.D. in Organisational Psychology, Organisational Behaviour, or a closely related area, and you are well-versed in methodology and statistics.
- You have a passion for leadership and leadership development, as well as an interest in emerging technology.
- You have a good command of both spoken and written English and are available to begin on September 1, 2023.
