The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is an independent, autonomous, and constitutionally created entity that oversees regulates, and accredits Pakistan’s higher education endeavors. USAID Undergraduate Scholarships for Flood-affected students is one of the prestigious scholarships offered to flood-affected students in Pakistan. Severe floods in Pakistan have caused catastrophic devastation to the infrastructure and livelihoods of millions of people. The continuation of higher education for university students from flood-affected districts has become inadequate. Many are on the verge of dropping out owing to a lack of financial means. Since 2004, the USAID-funded Merit and Needs-based Scholarship Program has provided scholarships to students from financially disadvantaged families. The Program will grant scholarships to university students from flood-affected communities in order for them to pursue their university degrees. Here are the specifics:

Application Requirements:
To apply for the USAID Undergraduate Scholarships for Flood-affected students, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must have an Undergraduate degree program in certain disciplines and must be in their fifth or sixth semester.
- Belong to districts/sub-districts/UC Tehsils listed by the Government of Pakistan/PDMA/District Administration as being affected by floods.
- Give evidence of flood damage, such as a house or livelihood.
- The pupils will have to apply online.
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed for financial support by the University’s Institutional Scholarship Award Committee.
- Females receive 50% of all scholarships.
- Students of all skill levels are highly encouraged to apply.
