Unemployment Insurance Program UAE 2023 | Get Paid Being Jobless is for those who want to receive a monthly payment without working in UAE.
On January 1, 2023, the UAE implemented an unemployment insurance program. This program attempts to give laid-off workers social security benefits. Employees of the federal government and the commercial sector can use it. According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE), joining the program is required.
Under this program, eligible workers who have lost their jobs are eligible to receive compensation in the form of a monthly salary for up to three months. To be eligible for the rewards, though, you must fulfill a few conditions.

Eligibility Conditions;
Employees in the federal and public sectors, including ex-pats and Emiratis, must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Unemployment Insurance Scheme.
- Have been employed in their prior position continuously for a minimum of 12 months as of the insurance plan’s enrollment date.
- Domestic assistants, minors under the age of 18, investors, part-time employees, and retirees are examples of workers who do not come under the excluded categories.

How do I register for the Program?
Employees have a variety of options for enrolling in the Unemployment Insurance Scheme, including:

- Telecommunications bill payment methods (du and Etisalat)
- Insurance Pool website
- ILOE app for Android
Estimating Insurance Coverage;
The insurance coverage compensation is given by the plan for a maximum of three months following the date of unemployment. 60% of the basic wage is used to compute the monthly compensation.
How do Redeem Insurance Benefits?
Employees must file a compensation claim within 30 days of the date of unemployment to receive insurance payments. Within two weeks after the claim date, compensation will be paid out, and each claim will only take up to three months to process.
Costs and Groups;
Based on the employee’s base pay, there are two groups under the insurance program.
Group 1: Employees who make a minimum of Dh16,000 per month.
- Cost of insurance: Dh60 yearly
- Up to Dh10,000 per month in remuneration, or 60% of the base salary
Group 2: Employees making upto Dh16,000
- Insurance costs Dh120 per year
- Up to Dh20,000 per month, which is equivalent to 60% of the base income
Staff workers who are paid on commission may also participate in the program. Depending on the category, insurance payments might be made on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annual basis.

“The Insurance Pool” consists of nine national insurance companies that operate in the UAE and is managed by Dubai Insurance Company. These businesses consist of:

- Dubai Insurance Company
- Emirates Insurance Company
