By 2030, more than 1 million animal and plant species will become extinct. To ensure that this fellowship receives comprehensive and diverse coverage worldwide, particularly in areas adversely impacted by its consequences, the Earth Journalism Network invites journalists from low- and middle-income countries to attend and report on the event. Application Requirements:
To be qualified for this fellowship, the applicant must:
- Professional journalists employed by established media outlets in low- or middle-income nations (check classification online).
- Applications are available to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, and radio).
- Open to freelance reporters and staff from any type of media organization.
- Experience reporting on biodiversity-related issues.
- You have an idea for an article about the effects of biodiversity loss for COP-16.
- Available for travel to Cali, Colombia, from October 19th to November 2nd, 2024.
- Fluent in English.
- Good academic record.
