The postdoctoral scholar will conduct patient-oriented research on pancreatic cancer, use mixed methods research (quantitative and qualitative) to assess the health outcomes of cancer survivors using administrative health data and assess decision-making along the cancer trajectory using scoping reviews, surveys, and/or focus groups. Dr. Winson Cheung, Professor and Lead for Health Services Research for Oncology in Alberta, and Dr. Colleen Cuthbert, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing and Canada Research Chair in Patient and Family Centred Cancer Survivorship, will supervise the postdoctoral scholar’s work. Health services researchers Drs. Cuthbert and Cheung are working on projects that are broadly concerned with cancer patients’ health outcomes.

The appointed candidates will be supervised by Professors Rei Safavi-Naini, Barry Sanders, and Daniel Oblak. The positions’ primary area of research is quantum-resistant and quantum-enabled cryptography, and they are supported by an NSERC Alliance Quantum Consortia grant titled “Accelerating the transition to quantum-resistant cryptography.” It is necessary to have a Ph.D. and to demonstrate proficiency in research. Successful applicants must continue to conduct active research and take part in grant-funded research projects with partners from academia and industry. A highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar with extensive experience in electrical and/or biomedical engineering is wanted by Dr. Aaron Phillips’ research team. An advantage would be knowing cardiovascular and/or neurological physiology. Understanding the sympathetic nervous system and how it adapts to the loss of supraspinal control (i.e., spinal cord injury) is the study team’s main goal. The group then uses this information to design and create novel medicines, mostly utilizing neurotechnology.
