The Florida International University Community-Based Research Institute (CBRI) has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate to join our growing team. You will primarily work on a new project sponsored by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIHMD) as part of FIU’s Research Center in Minority Institutions as a Postdoctoral Associate (FIU-RCMI). The Postdoctoral Fellow will help analyze and interpret data from the R01-equivalent RCMI project “Addressing community-level impacts of HIV and COVID-19 inequities among persons living with HIV.” The project will look at the impact of community factors on HIV and COVID-19 disparities among people living with HIV in Florida.
The study will employ statewide HIV and COVID-19 surveillance longitudinal data to anticipate potential increases in disparities among minority populations over time. The position will be funded for at least four years (2023-2027), with annual renewal based on performance. The chosen candidate will prepare research articles and presentations as the primary author and contribute as a co-author to additional publications and presentations. They will also submit annual reports and meet project deadlines while having the freedom to develop/design major components of our study and leading authorship on several articles. You will be part of a close-knit, energetic team of social epidemiologists dedicated to reducing health inequities.
