The following expenses are reimbursed by the Obama Foundation Scholars program:
- Stipend every month to help with living expenses in New York City
- If the program can meet in person, a furnished studio flat close to Columbia University can be found on foot
- The whole cost of tuition and fees for a maximum of four Columbia University courses
- For the duration of the program in New York City, basic health, dental, and life insurance will be provided.
