MCAT History:
The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) (which you all know is very well known) is a practice for students intending to apply for medical schools (MD and DO), as well as other drug-related fields in the United States and Canada. The study was first conducted in 1928 in response to surprisingly high levels of attraction in US medical schools (up to 50%). Introduction:
The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized, computerized, computer-based trial that has been part of the medical school admission process for more than 90 years. Each year, more than 85,000 students write tests. Nearly all medical schools in the United States and several in Canada require MCAT schools, and many schools for health work and graduation programs now accept MCAT scores instead of other standard tests. The MCAT test tests the skills and knowledge of medical educators, physicians, medical students, and residents who have found it necessary to succeed in medical school and practice medicine.
The content is divided into four sections:
- Fundamentals of biological and chemical biology.
- Chemical and Environmental Foundations of Biological Systems.
- Moral, Social, and Moral Fundamentals.
- Critical Analysis and Consulting Skills.
- The AAMC initiates MCAT testing and administers it several times a year, from late January to September, at hundreds of testing centers across the United States and Canada and at selected locations around the world.
PAPER PATTERN
The total number of MCQ’s 200, with four multiple options containing one appropriate option each is divided into the following four categories;
- Biology (80 MCQs)
- Chemistry (60 MCQs)
- Physics (40 MCQs)
- English (General Language Technology) (20 MCQs)
Every correct answer contains one mark. The total marks, therefore, are 200. The total time allowed is 150 minutes (2½ hours). There will be no wrong marking on the test.
A minimum of 60% marks are required to pass the Entry Examination. A minimum of 70% admission to MBBS is required and a minimum of 60% required to be accepted into the BDS system.
QUALITY
Eligibility will be calculated as follows: 50% entry test Inter + 50%
Intermediate Science (HSSC / F.Sc-Pre-Medical Group) or Equivalent Examination with a low mark of 70%. Certificate of Equality (if foreign qualifications such as A-Level or American 12th Grade)
Who can apply:
Candidates are required to have a Pakistan residency in the MDCAT to be admitted to any Public Sector Medical / Dental Institution of Punjab or to any Private Sector Medical / Dental Institution of Pakistan. Candidates from any of the Punjab, Islamabad (ICT) and foreign / Pakistani overseas regions may come from the MDCAT.

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) in terms of Section 18 and regulations made under Section 8 (2) (f) of the PMC Act, invites applications from the MDCAT examination for admission to MBBS / BDS programs at recognized public and private medical and dental colleges across the country. including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ & K). Any student seeking admission to any medical or dental college will be required to pass an MDCAT examination conducted by the PMC. The pass mark for the MDCAT examination will be 60%.
