Scholarship Support:
The Kochi University of Technology will provide undergraduate students with a fully-funded scholarship that includes tuition fees and living expenses. In addition, candidates will receive:
- Exemption from Entrance Fee of 30,000 yen, Registration Fee of 300,000 yen, and Tuition Fee of 535,800 yen/year.
- To support the cost of living, 150,000 yen/month is paid as a salary for the research project work. However, candidates will be required to pay a certain amount of tax on this salary.
- 150,000 yen for travel and subsistence expenses (Only international applicants living outside of Japan).

Application Requirements:
The Kochi University of Technology welcomes candidates for a fully sponsored Doctoral Scholarship course if they meet all eligibility requirements including:
- Candidates must have the approval of the SSP project leader chosen by the applicant to apply for that project.
- In addition, candidates must hold degrees at an accredited institution compared to master’s degrees offered by KUT. As well as candidates are eligible if they can get that degree before the KUT registration date.
- Accordingly, candidates must be 35 years of age or younger at the time of registration.
- In addition, candidates must show a good academic record and strong bachelor’s and master’s degrees at prestigious universities.
- Have a purpose, sufficient knowledge, and research skills to work on a research project.
- Also, candidates will need to have a high level of English Proficiency.
Necessary Documents:
The following are the required documents to apply for the bursary:
- copies of Educational Certificates including master’s degrees, in English or Japanese.
- Two Recommendation Letters.
- Recent educational transcripts.
- Original English / Japanese Health Certificate issued within the last 6 months.
- Copies of your previous publications.
- Copy of your Passport or other identity documents such as citizenship certificate, birth certificate, etc.
- English proficiency certificate.
- Present a certificate of test results for one of the accompanying: TOEFL iBT, IELTS, CET-6 or WSK.
- Research Proposal.

- Before applying for a formal application, candidates intending to apply must submit a completed pre-application to the leader of his or her chosen SSP project.
- The leader will check the application form.
- Only people who have obtained the approval of their preferred project leader are eligible to apply legally for the SSP program.
- Candidates can apply for a Doctor Scholarship after obtaining the approval of a project leader.
- In addition, candidates will be required to complete an application form and submit the required documents to the Kochi University of Technology by post.
