Iowa State University’s Veterinary Medical Centre is currently accepting applications for a Postdoc Research Associate – Food Animal Emergency post. The primary focus of this advanced training post at the Food Animal and Camilid Hospital (FACH) is on food animal emergency patients. This position’s duties include providing laboratory and didactic instruction to veterinary students, sharing after-hours on-call, coordinating hospitalized patient treatment management plans during after-hours and weekend hours, and caring for food animal species in the FACH. Board-certified specialists will assist with the duties of this post to give a training opportunity that aids in preparing the holder for a future position in academia or industry.

A Post-Doctoral Fellowship job is being made available by Iowa State University’s Student Counselling Service for the 2023–2024 academic year. The Division of Student Affairs includes SCS. The recommended start date for this full-time, 2000-hour position is August 1, 2023. Candidates are encouraged to have knowledge of college student development, an interest in dealing with a diverse student body, and expertise in crisis assessment and intervention. Strong applicants will additionally have expertise in group therapy or workshop facilitation, clinical supervision, intake/triage, and facilitation. The post-doc will have the chance to work in a vibrant university counseling center that assists both undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of backgrounds.

To support research initiatives connected to the DOT BOTTLE project, the job works in tandem with the principal investigator and other group members. It will be required of the person holding the post to plan and carry out experiments, interpret and present the findings of those experiments, create and deliver public presentations at both internal and external venues and mentor and train others in the conduct of experiments and the interpretation of data. Additionally, the job will be expected to direct and assist in the creation of research proposals, publication-ready manuscripts, and intellectual property disclosures. The upkeep and oversight of the everyday running of cutting-edge experimental facilities are also obligations of this role.

A non-profit organization that supports clinical collaborations and the coordinated delivery of Evidence-Based Interventions (EBIs) in community-based settings, the Iowa Community Hub (HUB) is linked to the ISU Translational Research Network (U-TuRN), where the Post-Doctoral Fellow would work to support translational research projects funded by the CDC. The distribution of the Walk with Ease, Chronic Disease Self-Management Programme (CDSMP), and Diabetes Prevention Programme (DPP) will receive the majority of attention, but other synergistic projects will be made possible and supported by the HUB collaborations due to their dynamic character.

Investigations of Gossypium’s evolutionary processes using computation and genomics. The following are the main objectives of this research:

• To clarify the population genomics and genetics of polyploid cotton associated with domestication, crop improvement, and interspecific gene flow.
• To comprehend the phenomenon of duplicate gene regulation and expression at the whole plant and single-cell level in a phylogenetic context.
• To improve our understanding of interspecific introgression and phylogenetic relationships within the genus.
• To participate in our teacher-training program and other outreach initiatives. The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with Iowa educators and possess outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
