For the academic years 2023-24, the Cuban government has offered one undergraduate scholarship in the field of medicine (MBBS) to Pakistani nationals. Candidates with a minimum of 70% in FSc pre-Medical or equivalent and 60% in Matric exams are eligible to apply for the Cuban Government Scholarship. Scholarship applications for the Cuban Government can be submitted online at the HEC website. The scholarship covers tuition, food, a hostel, and a monthly stipend of 100 Cuban pesos. After his departure to Cuba, the scholarship awardee will get a one-time grant of Rs 300,000/- (the Scholar must have a working bank account in Pakistan). Scholarship Benefits:
- Tuition costs
- Toiletries and hostel accommodations
- Food (under Cuban regulations)
- Stipend (100 Cuban Pesos each month) contribution to living expenses
- Other expenses are the responsibility of the student/guardian are below here:
- round-trip air tickets,
- halal food purchases,
- medical insurance (illness or other causes), and
- visa fees
- However, the scholarship awardee will receive a one-time gift of Rs 300,000/- following his departure to Cuba (the Scholar must have a working bank account in Pakistan).
Important Note: Because this scholarship is supported by the Cuban government, the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan will bear no additional financial burden.
Application Requirements:
- At least 70% or higher in F.Sc./A level (Pre-Medical) and 60% or higher in SSC/Matric (O level).
- Candidates awaiting results are not eligible to apply because HEC requires a final score for merit.
- All Pakistani/AJK nationals between the ages of 18 and 25 as of the application deadlines are eligible to apply.
- All applicants must submit a valid USAT-M test result. (The result acquired after January 20, 2022.)
- The requirements for nomination are based on USAT test scores.
- After meeting the following basic qualifying criteria, the ultimate selection will be based on the USAT-M Score.

Guidelines on How to Submit an Application for the HEC Cuban Government MBBS International Scholarships 2023:
Please pick “Learning Opportunities Abroad” after registering and filling up your profile. After submitting the application, have a printed copy signed by the applicant. The HEC online application portal will close on September 12, 2022 (04:00 PM).
The application date for the HEC e-portal is August 31, 2023.
In case of shortlisting:
The following documents will only be required/demanded of shortlisted applicants with the online application form (no need to provide hardcopy at this point).
- Copy of HEC application form (duly signed) sent via the online application portal
- SSC/DMC/Degree with IBCC attestation OR
- O-Level Certificate (Science Group) with IBCC equivalent. OR
- A-Level Certificate (Pre-Medical) with IBCC equivalency OR
- F.Sc. Certificate/DMC/Degree with IBCC attestation
- NADRA issues birth certificates.
- CNIC copy from the father or guardian.
- There is no criminal record certificate.
- (Original)Photocopy of a valid passport (valid for at least six months)
- Original Medical Certificate with HIV/AIDS report issued by the Medical Superintendent of the District Head Quarter Government Hospital and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
- Note that the above-mentioned documents are only required of shortlisted applicants; there is no need to provide a hard copy to HEC until notified. (Please keep this in mind.)
