This grant is expected to be started by the third region of 2023 and will enable freelancers to work within the UAE or from any location around the world. As long as they are registered with the ministry and abide by the law, low-skilled and high-skilled freelancers will be capable to work for themselves or with others.

We are going to establish something new which is the freelancing work permit in UAE for all skill levels. Besides high-skilled people, low-skilled people can have flexible work permits that permit them to work for themselves and work with others — as long they are within the umbrella of the law and have done the proper registration with the ministry,” Said Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation said on the sidelines of the ‘Remote’ seminar held on Wednesday in Dubai.
“The manager and the agencies will feel that this is cheaper for them because they don’t have to take many risks [in terms of investment]. They will depend on your skills. They will decide whether they want to continue with you or not and call you only when they need to.
“Conversely, the manager doesn’t need to be boxed into one organization or one type of job. They can have multiple jobs. This will, in my opinion, enhance productivity in our labor market. So, we have decided to go onwards with this model.”
